AQL: Acceptable Quality Level
Aseptic Packaging: A Shelf-ready packet with a commercially sterile product
Assembly: How product is put together; collating, filling, gluing, bagging, shrink wrapping etc.
B2C: Business to Consumer
Bag-in-Box: A sealed bag placed inside a rigid container (pretty self explanatory really)
Baseline Performance: The benchmark against which future measurements are compared to
Bespoke: Made to order
Blue Chip Companies: Nationally recognised, well established company.
Box: Container with a flat base and sides, usually square/rectangular, with a lid
Box Sizer: A Linkx Packaging Group B2C machine, which intelligently measures the empty volume of a loaded box, adjusts itself to cut, crease and fold it to suit the volume of e-commerce goods within.
Bubble Packaging: Cushioning around a product using pockets of air
Bulls Eye Finish: When a product is shrink wrapped but not completely enclosed, leaving an unwrapped area at each end
CAD: Computer Aided Design
Carton: Light box or container in which drinks or foodstuffs are packaged
Case: Container designed to hold or protect something
Case Erector: Machine that will take a flat-packed cardboard box, seal the bottom and present the top flaps open ready for filling.
Closures: Process of closing something
Control Systems: Device that manages demands
Corrugated: A material shaped into a series of parallel grooves
DIM Weight: Dimensional Weight
Easy-open end: An end that is scored for easy removal
End-of-Line: Secondary Packaging at the end of the line
Folding Carton: Paper board which is cut and folded, ready for transport
Hot melt adhesive:Adhesive, solid at room temperature, applied molten, forms a bond when cool.
HVD: High Viscosity Density
iCon conveyor: Divide, Merge, Transfer or Turn without rails or guards
Integrated System: Bringing together the component subsystems into one system

Packaging Development: A development in packaging services; concept, design, drawings
Packaging Supplies: General purpose supplies; glue, tape, shrink film etc.
Pallet Wrapper: This machine wraps pallets with stretch film
